 Hello Year Four,

We have had a fabulous year and are sad to say goodbye, but we will see you in September.

Thank you all for the very generous gifts and lovely cards.

Please enjoy this wonderful farewell song by the children of Year Four 2024
Have a restful and happy Summer.

Week ending 12th July 2024

 Hello Year Four,

We have been so busy trying to complete projects and blocks of work. We are getting there!

This week the children have been learning about time and angles. They have learned clockwise and anti-clockwise.

We have been planning a poem about a river and the children are using figurative speech to make it more interesting and dramatic!

For art we have nearly completed our mosaics based on Gaudi's trencadis animals. They are beautiful and so colourful!

We went to Potters Bar Museum on Tuesday and it was a great success. The children loved it and soaked up the information given. They enjoyed learning about the affects of the wars on Potters Bar and were able to try on metal helmets and gas masks!

They saw photos of how Potters Bar was over a hundred years ago and how people survived with little food, no heating, no television and no mobile phones.

They loved looking at the phones from the fifties, sixties and seventies. They thought the novelty phones were fantastic.

Next week we will continue to complete various projects.

Have a restful weekend

Ms Davis

Week ending 5th July 2024

 Hello Year Four,

This week we have completed our block on money during our maths lessons. The children enjoyed this area of maths!

We are currently looking at figurative speech in our English lessons, particularly alliteration and personification. This is in preparation for poetry writing.

We completed our science project on living things and their habitats by researching endangered animals. The children were quite shocked by the statistics and the reasons that some of our animals are becoming extinct. They carried out their own research.

For Spanish we learned about the Mexican festival 'The Day of the Dead.' The children were fascinated by this.

We are continuing to complete our history topic on Potters Bar in the Past.

NEXT WEEK

Maths

We will be learning about time and hopefully moving on to statistics.

English

The children will continue to plan and write a poem about a river.

D and T

It would be great if any projects being carried out at home could come in to school next week. For those who have not finished, they will be given time to complete the game in school.

ART

We will be using Gaudi's Trencadis animals to create mosaics next week.
