Hello Year Four,
We have had a busy first week back.
We have begun our new geography project on rivers and later in the term we will be going on a field trip to learn first-hand about rivers in the UK. This began by exploring the water cycle. We have set up an experiment in the class room to show evaporation and condensation.
We are continuing to learn about fractions in our maths lessons and are currently learning about mixed number and improper fractions.
For English we are coming to the end of our persuasive letter to the local council from Mr Wolf. He is trying to persuade the council to ban little girls from the forest and he is very persuasive!
For Spanish we will be learning the names of different countries and how to say where we are from, what our nationality is and which languages we can speak. The children have been exploring a map of Spain, so if you have been on or are planning a holiday to Spain it would be great to know which region you will be going to.
Today we had a PHSE lesson and as we are focussing on 'Healthy Me' this term we explored the effects of smoking and alcohol.
For science we will be beginning our project on electricity next week.
In our RE lessons we are looking at sacred texts and this week we focussed on the word 'sacred' and The Holy Bible.
Spellings will be given out on Monday. The test for these will not be for two weeks due to the PGL trip, however I am posting them for you now.

Please return all OV7A forms if you haven't done so already. Any medicine we will have to administer whilst at PGL you will need to fill out paperwork to consent to this. Please go to the office to hand in the medicine in it's box and to fill out the paperwork.
UPDATE The coach is due to leave at 7:30AM. Please arrive at school between 7:15-7:20am. We are due back at school at approximately 4pm. We will have lunch when we arrive at PGL and we will have lunch before we leave.
There will be a fitted sheet on the beds. Please provide bedding for the night. If you child wears deodorant please can you pack roll-on only.
Make sure they can carry their bags themselves - we are due to be on bottom floor accommodation. Please can I stress not to pack any electronics for PGL or anything sentimental.
We will send texts via the school to let you know we arrived safely and we will post on the blog during the evening.
