 Good Afternoon Year 4,

What a lovely end to the week. Well done to all the children who participated in the class assembly! They all put lots of effort in to speak extremely clearly. On top of this, the children have worked hard to produce some fantastic writing. 

Next week

English – We will be reading Mr Wuffles.

Maths – We will be converting measures.

Science - We will be constructing food chains.

PSHE - We will be problem solving.

History - We will be learning about Anglo Saxon food.

Good Afternoon Year 4,

Finally the end of an extremely rainy week has come, but we still smile on! This week we have started writing our spooky paragraphs. It as been fun to think about how to choose vocabulary that engages the reader. We have also practised using the short division method.

Next week

English – We will be continuing to write a short suspense story. 

Maths – We will be learning to multiply and divide by 10,100,1000

Science - We will be learning how to construct a food chain. 

PSHE - We will be discussing what it means to be a good friend. 

History - We will be learning about Anglo Saxon food. 

Times Table - x8

On Monday 21st November @ 13:00 England are playing their first match. We will be watching this in class.

Good Afternoon Year 4,

Hope you have all had a fantastic week. This week we have written some fantastic descriptions using the Rhythm of the Rain. The children have thought carefully about their language choices. In addition to this the children have written some beautiful Haikus about Remembrance Day.

In Maths this week, we have learnt how to find factors of numbers. The children have also thought about how to scale numbers up and down. The children have practised this. 

Next week

English – We will be starting our learning on Snow White. We will be writing using suspense. 

Maths – We will be learning some efficient multiplication and division methods.  

Science - We will be learning how to construct a food chain. 

PSHE - We will be discussing what influences us.

History - We will be finding out who the Picts and Scots were.

 Good Afternoon Year 4,

We have had a fun start back to the second half term! This week, the children have been working hard to engage the reader and enhance their sentence structures. The children have been thinking carefully about their verb/adjective choices and have been writing more detailed sentences. In Maths, we have been working on our subtraction skills and counting in multiples of 3,6,7,9,25 and 1000. They have been pattern spotting and creating sequences. 


Next Week

English: We will be focusing on Remembrance Poetry

Maths: Factors, Scaling and Corresponding

Science: Identify Predators and Prey 

Computing: Digital Imagery 

History: Anglo - Saxon Settlements

Art and Design: Understand Watercolours

RE: Hindu Signs and Symbols

Year 4 Assembly will be on the 25th November. 

Fireworks will begin at 6pm.

Home Learning Project

Home learning project


Anglo Saxon Settlements.

This half term I would like you to build a 3D model of an Anglo Saxon Settlement. You can be as creative as you like but it should be based on the set up of a real life Anglo Saxon village. 
When you  return, you will need to be able to speak about your settlement and discuss the different parts of the village. 
The deadline for this project is 12th Decemeber 2022

Please ensure you use times table rockstars to support the children to learn their times tables - specifically the 'Soundcheck' mode. Continue to read your books daily where possible.
