Good Afternoon,
A huge well done to all the children in the class who have tried extremely hard with their times tables over the last few months. All the hard work certainly paid off! This week the children have thought of some fantastic inventions using ideas from our new text.

Computing - We will be using emails to share ideas.
RE - To identify how we decide what is right and wrong.
Art - We will be focusing on different parts of a painting to recreate it.
PSHE - We will be learning about female and male puberty. All the language used is scientific and follows the guidance of our scheme 'Jigsaw'

We have had an exciting week in Year 4 as the Euros, supporting our teams. We have also finished our discussion text about the deforestation which has highlighted to us that we need to make some sacrifices to improve our environment.

Maths - We will be focusing on Area and Perimeter.
English - We will be starting a new text and writing an Explanation based on Charlie Small: Gorilla City.
Science - We will be continuing to classify animals and insects.
History - We will be making a map of the school grounds.
Computing - We will be understanding how emails work and how to 'cc' and 'bcc' someone.
RE - To identify how rules shape our lives.
Art - To analyse and find meaning behind a painting.
PSHE - We are learning to correctly label the female and male internal and external body parts. We will be discussing parts of the body that are necessary to reproduce. Please be aware, only scientific language will be used.
Next week, the children will be taking part in the Multiplication Check. This year, it is non- statutory but we feel as a school it will be a good indication for us to see where the children are. The results will not be published anywhere. The children should not feel pressured to do well but should ensure they try their best.

Good Afternoon Year 4,
A fantastic start to the last half term! On Thursday, we had another inspirational and insightful discussion with an engineer, Poppy. She worked for JCB who are in fact an agricultural company that supply the country with many products. The children had many inquisitive questions.
