Dear Parents,
It’s been a rainy week, but that certainly hasn’t held us back! In maths, we’ve been pushing ourselves by placing numbers up to 10,000 on a number line. The children have been working hard to calculate the difference between numbers and then dividing this by the number of intervals—quite the challenge, but they’ve done brilliantly!
In English, we’ve continued our exploration of the Greek goddess, Venus, with the children writing diary entries and letters from her perspective. Their creativity and imagination have really shone through! In art, we’ve been recreating some of Picasso’s famous works, focusing on the colours he used. Keep an eye out—we’ll be auctioning these masterpieces for millions in the coming weeks!
In science, we’ve deepened our understanding of the digestive system, learning how everything is connected and works together to keep our bodies functioning properly.
Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be diving into geography by exploring the inhabitants of the world’s rainforests and why these environments are so suitable for them. In ICT, we’ll continue learning about the internet and discovering what makes a website work.
We’re also excited for the school book fair, which will be open after school on Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th, Monday 7th, and Tuesday 8th of October. The children can even win a £5 voucher by creating a front cover and blurb for a story—the competition closes on Wednesday 2nd, so there’s still time to get creative!
Wishing you all a happy weekend, and fingers crossed for some better weather!
Best regards,
Mr Chanter
