Good Afternoon Year 4, 

What a great week it has been! We have had lots of fun celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We  have painted plates, produced artwork and written poems all based on that theme. We baked some scrumptious cakes which I hope you enjoyed. You also participated in the Mini Marathon very well. Congratulations to you all for trying so hard in the race!

Next half term will be just as busy, with us learning a range of new topics.

Good Afternoon Everybody, 

We have had an enjoyable week this week focussing on writing the opening of our story as well as solving some investigations about triangles. In English, we have worked hard to write the opening of our story with a theme. The children have focussed on how to make their writing engaging and use a range of vocabulary. Please ensure you are practising times tables with your children. Please use the Soundcheck area on TTRS.

Half Term Project 
This half term the children are required to make their own fraction or time game. This should be an innovative, engaging game that they have sequenced using their fraction or time knowledge from our maths lessons. Please try to make the game no bigger than an A3 sheet as space is limited in the classroom. If the children prefer, they can make it an interactive game. 
Please ensure the children have solved their own problems before putting them into the game. 

This project is now due in.

Next Week 
English - We will be continuing to our stories and hopefully finishing them. 
Maths - We will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes.
History - We will be learning more about our Queen. 
Computing - We will be creating a newspaper article and filming a broadcast.
Design and Technology - Baking cakes. 
PE - Wednesday and Thursday (Normal again)

Next week we have a busy week.

Good Afternoon Everybody, 

We have had an enjoyable week this week focussing on complex sentences and Roman numerals. The children have decoded hidden messages and used their logic to solve difficult puzzles in Maths. In English, we have worked hard to understand better how to extend simple sentences. The children will be writing a story next week with a theme. They read a range of different stories and identified the theme in these. When you read some stories at home please discuss what the children think the theme of the story is.
