Good Afternoon Year 4,
Happy weekend. This week the children have challenged themselves to use apostrophes for plural possession. This week the children wrote a poem about tears. They had the opportunity to pick the type of poem they wrote to express their ideas. In maths, the children have been working with decimals. they have ordered and compared decimals with up to 2 dp. Some of the children have identified how they can use their knowledge of money to support their learning about decimals.
Next week
English – We will be learning about playscripts and how they are used.
Maths – We will be continuing to learn about decimals. We will be adding and subtracting decimals.
Science - We will be learning about sound proofing.
PSHE - We will be learning about how to overcome disappointment.
Geography - The features of a river.
RE - Identify why faith is important to some people.
Times Table - x7,8 and 9

Monday (30 minutes - trainers only)
Wednesday Swimming (1 hour - full kit)
Thursday (1 hour - full kit)
Please be aware Year 4 will not be in school on Wednesday 1st February.
Thursday 9th February @ 2.30pm PGL Meeting for Parents.
Please ensure the children are using TTRS as much as possible to practise their times tables. The children have all been issued a reading book now, please ensure you are reading daily.

Good Afternoon Year 4,
What a lovely end to the week. The children have produced a fantastic non fiction Anglo Saxon text and worked hard to recognise and draw different shapes. In Geography, this half term, the children will be learning about the The River Nile. They have researched some interesting facts about the Nile already. Earlier in the week, Year 4 filled the school with noise testing how different objects make sound.
Next week
English – We will be creating a character.
Maths – We will be learning about lines of symmetry.
Science - We will be learning about pitch.
PSHE - We will be learning about how to cope with broken dreams.
