Hello Year 4!
Highlights of the week:I am so unbelievably proud of each and every one of you for your performance in our assembly this morning! You were so confident and all of your hard work certainly paid off, you even managed to make me cry! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. The class have also been working really hard this week finishing off their myth and quest unit of work in literacy. The children have produced some fantastic stories based on all of their learning. They have also been working really hard on their fractions. They have been looking at equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions. They was a lot of debate about whether they would prefer 1/8 of a pizza or 1/3 of a pizza! The children have also been working really hard on their Geography learning about tectonic plates. They acted out an earthquake and used Oreos to demonstrate the different tectonic plates. 














Next week:
English
We are starting a unit of work on non-fiction reports.

Spellings
The spelling focus for this week is words with the ‘ch’ spelling but sound like ‘sh’.

Maths
We are finishing off our work on fractions and consolidating addition sums.

Science
We are consolidating our understanding of invertebrates and vertebrates.

Each year we make a class Christmas hamper for a raffle prize at the fayre. Could you please send in an item to go into the hamper by Wednesday the 5th December. This can be anything such as chocolates, wine and biscuits.

Please make sure that you are reading, practising your spellings, times tables and completing Mathletics at home.
