Hello Year 4!
What a great week full of sporting events we have had!
It was so great to see all of the children joining in with sports day yesterday, eager to win points for their houses. The boys and girls also really enjoyed the football tournament this week and played extremely well.
Thank you to Freddie's mum for providing this photograph of the boys tournament this week!
Also, a massive congratulations to the whole class this week for completing their times table tests. They did fantastically and showed great determination and resilience during this. Well done Year 4!

He is also hoping to raise money for Cancer Research to support their research into finding a cure to cancer. Hello Year 4!
I’ve very pleased to hear that you have had a great week full of exciting learning while I have been away with Year 6 in the Isle of Wight!
This week there are no spellings as we are really focusing on our times tables for the Year 4 times table test which is taking place next week. Please make sure you are practising as this weekend will be your last weekend to practise before the test. It is important that you are focusing on the ones you are unsure of, rather than going over the ones you already know. The test guideline says that the most common ones to appear in the test is the 6,7,8,9 and 12 times tables so practise practise practise!
A more detailed blog will be posted on Monday.
I am really looking forward to seeing you on Monday and catching up about our week!
Have a lovely weekend

Good afternoon Year 4.
What a fantastic first week back! This week we have been really busy. The children have really enjoyed our English topic on debates and have been sharing their views and challenging each other. In maths we have been focusing on telling the time. The children have understood the passing of time and are confident telling different times on the clock. In order for this to stay fresh in their mind, please can you ensure that you are practising daily using both analogue and digital 24 hour clocks. This can be as simple as asking them to read different times during the day. There is also a really useful website, called toytheater.com which shows an interactive analogue clock with the option of the corresponding digital clock being shown. The children have also really enjoyed their trip to the Natural History Museum today, and I was really impressed with the questions that they were asking and their behaviour walking around the museum. I will upload the photos of their day on Monday, alongside what we will be covering next week.
Have a lovely weekend!
