Hello Year 4!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being the most incredible class I could have wished for. I am so proud of all of your achievers and progress and you should be very proud of yourselves too. Thank you all so much for your cards and gifts, it was incredibly kind of you and it is greatly appreciated. I would also like to say a massive thank you to my wonderful support staff this year who have been so helpful at supporting myself and all of the children this year.
Have a wonderful summer and I’m looking forward to seeing you all around school next year!
Best wishes

Good afternoon Year 4! I cannot believe we have nearly reached the end of term and we have I am finished our final complete week in Year 4. The time has gone by so quickly!
I would just like to remind you that on Monday I will be showing the film Wonder to the children which links to our learning on celebrating differences this year. This film is rated a PG. Please contact me as soon as possible if you do not want your child to watch the film.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for such an incredible year. It has been an absolute pleasure to teach this class. We have had lots of fun, learned incredible amounts and made loads of long lasting memories.

Hello Year 4! We have had another great week. I cannot believe we are onto the final week next week! The time has flown by! It was lovely to see so many of you for parent consultations this week and discuss how fantastically your children have done this year.
There is a long list of library books that the children have taken out that need to be returned to the school as soon as possible. The children have been told which books they need to return, so can I please ask for these to be looked for at home and returned.
Next week:
Next week we are going to be creating an art project for display which is all about promoting awareness of plastic pollution. Please can the children bring in any plastic bottles that they have at home as we will be using these for the display.
On the last few days of term (around Monday 22nd July) I am planning to show the children the film Wonder as we have really been focusing on celebrating differences this year, and I feel that this film communicates this message in a great way. This is a PG rated movie so if you have any questions or wish for your child not to watch the film please contact me as soon as possible.
There are still a number of children coming to school without a water bottle. Please can you ensure that you child has one to bring with them next week.
In maths next week we are going to be focusing division and in English we are going to be having a grammar focus.
There will be no spellings next week. Please take this opportunity to have a look over the list of words that the children have been given to practise, which is the sheet I gave out during your parents consultations.
Have a lovely weekend and I am really looking forward to our last week together next week!

Good afternoon Year 4!
We have certainly been blessed with the weather this week, and we have taken advantage of the outdoor classroom in the gorgeous sunshine.
Highlights of the week:
A few weeks ago, all of the children wrote poems about freedom which were submitted to the Queenswood poetry competition. Daisy, Annabelle and Anastasia's poems were chosen and as a result the girls were invited to a poetry workshop at Queenswood on Tuesday. They had the opportunity to meet a poet along with children from lots of different schools and create a whole group performance poem. They also had a talk with the author Catherine Johnson, who spoke about her experience writing her historical fiction novels. There was a prize giving ceremony at the end where all of the chosen poems were judged and I am incredibly proud to announce that Daisy was a runner up! I am immensely proud of all the children who submitted their poems and huge congratulations to Daisy for coming second out of all the entries!
This week Veer-Ram took the whole school assembly on Thursday in which he spoke about climate change and what we are doing to our environment. He spoke with such confidence and really engaged the children in what we can do to make a change. Well done Veer-Ram!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NEXT WEEK:
Next week is parents consultations. Please make sure you check your confirmed time online to ensure everybody gets their allocated slot.
Next Tuesday afternoon (during school) Year 6 are running The Apprentice. This is an afternoon where they run food, drink, goods and game stalls in the hope to raise the most money for charity. All classes attend this event so if you could send your child in with some money to buy the products as the money that the group earn will be going to their chosen charity.
Topics for next week:
Maths:
Division
English:
Letter writing
Spellings:
Spellings will be posted on Monday after our pre test. I completed an assessment with the children today on the statutory word list for Year 3 and 4, so we did not have time to do the normal spelling pretest.
PSHCE:
Reflecting on moving forward to Year 5.
Geography:
Indian cities.
Spanish:
Plan and play games surrounding a learnt topic.

Complete Franz Marc art piece
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!
